Kiddions Mod Menu guide
This walkthrough is the order the rest of the docs assume. Failed attaches are usually skipped steps, not a broken Kiddions x64 zip. Read it before you launch anything from kiddions_mod_menu_v1.0.1_x64.zip.
1. Confirm the machine
You need 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a legitimate GTA 5 PC copy, and the x64 Visual C++ Redistributable. A missing runtime looks exactly like a corrupt download — the Kiddions window never appears. Confirm the system requirements table first, including borderless/windowed display mode. Exclusive fullscreen hides the overlay.
2. Download the official x64 ZIP
Take the official Kiddions package from the Kiddions Mod Menu download page: kiddions_mod_menu_v1.0.1_x64.zip. Skip “setup.exe” mirrors. Do not run files from Explorer’s ZIP preview — Windows can delete that temp extract mid-session.
3. Extract to a real folder
Right-click the ZIP → Extract All. Use a folder under your user profile, for example C:\\Users\\You\\Kiddions. Avoid Program Files. After extract you should see the Kiddions Mod Menu executable next to any helper files from this release — still named for x64, still version 1.0.1.
4. Set Grand Theft Auto V
Open Graphics settings and switch to borderless window. Start the official GTA5.exe from Rockstar Launcher, Steam, or Epic. Load Story Mode and wait until Franklin, Michael, or Trevor can actually walk. A black loading plate is not a loaded session. Kiddions Mod Menu will not attach to GTA Online; BattlEye will refuse it, and this guide will not tell you otherwise.
5. Run Kiddions Mod Menu as administrator
With Story Mode already walking, right-click the Kiddions executable → Run as administrator. Accept UAC. Without elevation the attach step has no way to reach GTA5.exe. Start the overlay after the game, never the reverse.
6. Attach once
Use the in-app Attach control a single time and wait for the Kiddions watermark. Opening the menu is Insert or Numpad * by default — details on hotkeys. Clicking attach repeatedly does not speed anything up.
Launcher notes
Steam
Shift+Tab fights the overlay. Disable the Steam overlay for GTA 5 if the Kiddions menu flickers, or rebind to Insert only.
Epic Games
Epic still boots Rockstar’s executable. Turn Epic’s overlay off per-game. Do not stack ReShade, Afterburner, and a second trainer on day one.
If nothing appears
Work the troubleshooting page in order: architecture (must be x64), ZIP extracted, Story Mode walking, UAC accepted, exclusive fullscreen off. Safety prompts are explained on safety — never as “turn off antivirus”.
The five failures that look identical
Architecture (not x64), ZIP not extracted, Story Mode still loading, UAC denied, exclusive fullscreen. Each one looks like a dead shortcut. Work them in that order before you blame kiddions_mod_menu_v1.0.1_x64.zip. Safety prompts are not solved by turning off antivirus.
When the watermark appears, you are done with setup. Open Insert or Numpad star. If it still fails, troubleshooting is the next chapter, not a third download from a mirror.
